Michael is a Principal Advisor at SmedTech with over 20 years of experience in traffic engineering, transport planning, and modelling across local government, consulting, and industry. He brings a strong commercial focus to the development and delivery of transport projects, with experience communicating complex traffic and revenue relationships to senior stakeholders and executive decision-makers.
Throughout his career, Michael has led teams across a range of project types, from transport impact assessments through to the development of city-shaping infrastructure projects.
Michael has extensive experience in the toll road sector, including the development of traffic and revenue forecasts, asset and project valuations, and operational transport planning across toll roads in Australia and the United States.
Since joining SmedTech, Michael has provided specialist tolling demand and revenue advice across a range of major toll road projects in Victoria and Queensland, including reviews of toll structures and demand forecasts, toll pricing and revenue optimisation, and assessments of the feasibility of greenfield and brownfield toll road developments. This builds on 10 years' experience with AECOM and GHD, and seven years at Transurban, where he worked on traffic and revenue forecasting and project valuation across assets and projects in Australia and the United States.
